Theology Pub

Toby and I have been talking about starting a Theology Pub...what's a theology pub I here you asking? Well, the short answer is that we would gather at a pub in old town and talk about theology, that is... the intersection of theology and the reality of our lives... There won't be a planned topic we'll just gather and talk about whatever theological topics arise from the group. The plan for now is to gather on the second and fourth thursdays of each month at 7pm. We'll meet at the River City Brewery or upstairs at Loft 150. This thing is open to everyone, so bring a friend.... and bring a question or a theological thought.

Today’s Nooma video was # 12, “Matthew” ... we ran short on time so I thought I would open up a post for some discussion... Here is a short description of the Video...

Suffering the loss of someone we love can be the most difficult thing in life to deal with. One moment we have them and the next they’re gone. What are we supposed to do? How are we supposed to feel? The truth is, there’s no certain way we’re “supposed” to feel. Whatever we’re feeling, it’s okay. It’s okay to feel shock, anger, denial or whatever we may feel. It’s okay. And if we don’t feel anything at all, that’s okay too. It’s okay to have no answers and no explanations. Because sometimes all the reasoning and comforting words in the world just isn’t what we need. What might help us however is to understand how Jesus dealt with this kind of loss.
