Measuring God's Gifts
Going on eastward with a cord in his hand, the man measured one thousand cubits, and then led me through the water... Again he measured one thousand, and... Again he measured one thousand... Ezekiel 47:3-4
A "cubit" was an ancient unit of measurement that equaled the length of the forearm: from the elbow to the tip of the middle finger. With each new measure, Ezekiel was led farther into the river - until the water became so deep that he had to stop and turn back. Ezekiel certainly had his hands full!
God filled that riverbank with plants, birds, fish - all kinds of good things. And like that river, God fills us with good things, too.
Let's Get Moving! Bake something according to its recipe today. As you measure out each ingredient, talk about how it helps make the whole thing taste better.
