What's Happening This Week 2-8-2010

Our Confirmation Class and their Friends-in-Faith had a great time on Saturday Night!!  And, the Souper Bowl was AWESOME!  We’ve collected $979.71 so far.  And, through our Can Collection Contest, we collected 79 food items.  Everything will be donated to United Methodist Open Door.  THANK YOU to Hallie Heard, Makenzie Moore, Leah McDarty, Jordan Lund, Ella McNeely, Allison McNeely, Brianna Turner, Annie Calvert, Lauren Wood, Josh Beall, Joey Beeler, Brian Beckman and Alec Wilson for being here to stand with our soup kettles!

 

All of our YOUTH MINISTRIES are going strong, I encourage you to be involved in absolutely everything you can be.  It is an unbelievable time together growing in faith!

6 p.m.                        Valentine Dessert Trolley—Young Spirit, be sure to have your homemade goodies here between 5 – 6 p.m. in the Hedrick  Hall Kitchen

è The 30 Hour Famine is February 19-20, 2010

You can still sign-up for this AWESOME event.  Get ready to change the world!

è In conjunction with the 30 Hour Famine, we have several profiles of children who need a sponsor.  There will be a booth by Hedrick Hall and in the Coffee House the next two weekends for you to pick your child!! For just $30 a month, YOU can change a child’s life. 

è Mountain T.O.P. Registration Forms will be out soon and are due back March 3^rd for our incredible High School Mission Trip to Tennessee.  If you are currently in high school, you are eligible to join us.  We will also need adult sponsors, so if you are interested…please talk with Paige as soon as you know for sure.

è Just a few Summer 2010 dates to put on your calendars: 

Young Spirit Choir Tour is June 1-8 with the Home Concert on June 9^th

Mountain T.O.P. is July 9-18

Middle School Mission Trip is July 19-23

è Also, I would like to begin texting you reminders of things coming up…so, if I don’t have your cell number, and you don’t mind giving it to me, that can be one more way for you to get the info about EVERYTHING we have going on!  You can text me at 316-210-6517 and then I will have it (just be sure to let me know who you are J).  Also, I do have a facebook, but am going to re-do it a little bit, so I can start updating you on everything going on and send devotions, etc.  So, add me if you want!

·        Continue to remember the people of Haiti

·        We have had a lot of deaths in the congregation recently.  Prayers for grieving families.

·        A lot of your friends are going through a rough time.  Prayers for strength.

·        Many of your teachers are suffering from breast cancer.  Prayers for healing.

·        Brooks Way was up for Homecoming at Heights High School this past weekend!

·        Brianna’s aunt was being induced, but I haven’t heard if there is a baby yet J.
