What's Happening This Week 3-23-2010

Spring Fling:  Mission Madness was incredible.  Thank you to all who participated!    Josh Beall, Isabella Bond, Matthew Lee, Hallie Heard, Michael Lee, AJ Wilson, Alec Wilson, Sean Witt, Braden Lefler, Kyle Lefler, Sidney Smith, Alec Campbell, Joey Beeler, Alexandra Bond and Emily King gave of their time to be in ministry and mission.  And, we also had fun ice skating and at the movies. 

 

And, the Winter Jam Concert on Sunday night was AMAZING!! 

 

All of our YOUTH MINISTRIES are going strong, I encourage you to be involved in absolutely everything you can be.  It is an unbelievable time together growing in faith!

Wednesday, March 24^th

6 p.m.     Trinity (6^th Grade Worship Arts Team)—meet in Room 034

    Young Spirit Youth Choir—meet in Room 033

 

7:15 p.m.  Small Groups for EVERYONE

    6^th and 7^th Grade meet in Hedrick Hall—we will be going on a field trip, so be prepared

Confirmation (8^th Grade Youth) meet in Room 035

    Freshmen meet in Room 039

Sophomores meet in Room 034

    Juniors meet in Room 032

    Seniors meet in the Undercroft Kitchen

 

Friday, March 26^th

7 p.m.     High School Lock-In – grab a friend and join us for our Harry Potter themed all-nighter. 

Cost is $10 + a 2 liter of soda.  Please sign-up on my office door by this Wednesday.

 

Here’s the catch though--we will need some all-night sponsors to make this happen!  You can work in shifts, so you don’t have to stay up all night.  Let me know as soon as possible if you’d like to be in ministry with our youth in this way. Or, if you are a youth, ask your parents and/or other adults to help.  If we don’t have anyone, we will need to cancel for this year!

Young Spirit Choir Tour deposits are due TODAY!

9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.    Mission Fair in the Coffee House—be sure and stop by to see how you can be more involved in mission

Other Important Info:

 

è Mountain T.O.P. Registration Forms are due back AS SOON AS POSSIBLE for our incredible High School Mission Trip to Tennessee.  If you are currently in high school, you are eligible to join us. 

è Young Spirit Choir Tour is in the planning stages and we need to know how many of you are committed to making the trip so we can finalize plans.  Your $50 deposit is due by March 28^th.

Prayer requests… 

 

·     Joey Beeler’s grandmother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  Prayers for healing and comfort.

·     Prayers for the friends and family of Yuna Choi and Regan Wheeler who died over Spring Break

·     Remember Hana Choi in your prayers as she continues to heal from her injuries and as she grieves the loss of her mother, brother and twin sister.

·     Sean and Devon Smith’s step-dad’s mother died.  Prayers as they deal with loss.

·     Continue to pray for the people of Chile and Haiti and other countries affected by natural and man-made disasters.

·     Allison and Ella McNeely’s dad is in the process of going back oversees and will be away from home preparing up until his deployment.

·     Leah McDarty’s dad is still overseas.  Prayers for safety.

·     Continue to remember Blair McGehee’s grandmother as she battles ovarian cancer.
